 Our owner Jose Ferrer began upholstery in 1964 in his hometown of Mexicali Mexico, where

a friend of Jose helped him to get a job at a local shop. Altogether he worked in five different places in Mexicali, he went from working in a factory to being employed as a manager of a shop. Jose started learning while on the job, teaching himself, acquiring experience and knowledge as he went along.

 

  In 1969 Jose came to the U.S. to live in Sacramento California, during which he was employed at four different shops this allowed him the opportunity to experience a wide range of different methods and techniques. After which he moved to Santa Rosa, California around 1974. Unhappy with the pay Jose left his first two employers, but while at the second location he had received a call letting him know of a space that had opened up for rent at a nearby shop. He stayed at that location for the next two years. After which he worked out of his home for about a year, until being employed at a local shop on Steele Lane. Then he located to 1572 Hampton Way, where he opened up Jose Ferrer Upholstery in 1977.

 

Over time Jose has not only built a wealth of knowledge, but has developed a true love and passion for the job. Not many would question Jose's expertise after more than 50 years of experience. While working closely with home and business Interior Designers Jose has honed his skill with decades of time and effort. With such an extensive background in the upholstery business most of Jose's clients have been referral based. Jose is known for his passion for fine quality and craftsmanship in all his work, a quality that will exceed expectations. He is a true artisan.
